Florian,

Try using the "Check services enabled in this farm" option located in Application Management in Central Administration. If there are any issues listed there, please post them.

Hey Joe,
i have a severe problem with an installation without AD...i also used the howto you mentioned above...but i am not able to start the SSP...the error i get is "Dieser Server ist nicht mit einer Farm verbunden" (german)....in english maybe sth like "This server is not joined to a farm"...

i do not understand this
1) i ran psconfig from this computer
2) the services are installed (and in Central-ADmin >> Operations >> Services on Server OSearch is running)

Maybe you have got a hint for me....
Regards
Florian

Thanks for stopping by! I know that Red Hat is the source of RHN, and without them their would be no CentOS, etc.. I just hope that by doing this they aren't shooting themselves in the foot.

Um...if it wasn't for Red Hat...you wouldn't have RHN to begin with...

Thank you :)

The /etc/apt/preferences thing didn't work for me (something about invalid headers), but I just commented out the extra repos after Compiz had upgraded.

Cheers

Ah, I didn't bother installing it since the pkg-descr didn't indicate there were other options available other than scp and sftp. Thanks :)
